One parent families unveils state-of-the-art parenting database

16/08/06 National charity One Parent Families today launches a state-of-the-art, online database of 10,000 UK help agencies for parents and families.
Designed for all professionals working with parents and families, the Signposter database has been developed using the expertise of a partnership of charities, including Parentline Plus, ACE, Youth Access, Parenting UK and Young Minds. Signposter contains up-to-date information on large and small, national and local agencies.
It will be an invaluable resource for a wide range of organisations, including: - voluntary sector organisations supporting parents and children
- statutory sector organisations dealing with employment, tax credits and benefits
- the statutory education sector including early years centres, schools and libraries
- employers who wish to make it available directly to staff, managers or HR staff
- Family lawyers and others dealing with families going through a crisis
An easy-to-use system that will reduce call time and increase call capacity, Signposter can search for agencies using any combination of subject, geographic area and client group. It covers telephone helplines, local face-to-face advice, parenting skills and support and services for children and young people.
