Holidays 2008: the guide for lone parents

This holiday is for you as well as your children. Based on others' experience, a good general rule is to allocate a third of your holiday doing things that you all enjoy, a third for activities that your children enjoy and another third for doing things that you enjoy, which could include adult time to yourself.

Involve your children in these plans before you book and while you are on holiday. That way, they learn to organise their day, share their time and consider what others wish.
