What should I do if I’m unhappy with the way I was dealt with by Jobcentre Plus staff?

You may want to complain because you are unhappy with the way you were treated, for example;
  • given misleading information by visiting staff;
  • feeling forced to complete a child maintenance administration form; or
  • asked inappropriate questions.

You can complain by phone or in writing to the Customer Services Manager at your local Jobcentre Plus. You may also need to tell Jobcentre Plus or the CSA that you want to opt out to stop the CSA from taking action. Ask for information on complaints at your local Jobcentre Plus.

If you do not get a satisfactory response from the Customer Services Manager, complain in writing to the manager of the district office. If you need to take your complaint further, write to the chief executive of Jobcentre Plus. You can also ask your MP to complain to Jobcentre Plus on your behalf. For more information ask Jobcentre Plus for their leaflet GL22 Tell Us Your Comments and Complaints.
