Who qualifies for financial help with further education?

Generally, the type and amount of help you receive depends on your income - see Financial help while you are studying for details.

There are also rules about your residence in the UK. You must be a UK or European Union national, normally resident in the UK and, in most cases, have lived here for three years before your course starts. You will also qualify for help if you have lived in the UK since being granted refugee status or, following an application for asylum, been granted exceptional leave to enter or remain in the UK.
