Updated March 2008
If you are a pregnant teenager, a young mother, or a young father with sole custody of a child, the benefits system can be particularly complicated.
This magazine sets out what benefits and other financial help you might get depending on your age, where you live and whether or not you are doing any work or training. It tells you about claiming benefits when:- you are still living at home, or
- you are living on your own, or
- you are living with a boyfriend.

It also tells you about what benefits and other extra money you can claim when:- you are at school, college, or doing a training course, or
- you are working, and/or
- you are paying for childcare, and/or
- you have been in care.

It includes information on:- your rights if you are working and are pregnant, and
- maternity pay for you, and
- paternity pay for your boyfriend.

Money for Teenage Parents Magazine is FREE for lone parents. Call the Lone Parent Helpline on 0800 018 5026 to order a free copy.
If you are an adviser of lone parents, the magazine can be ordered via our Shop.
