Free fire safety check from The Fire Service

The Fire Service provides a FREE service that is available to all residents of the UK.

The Fire Brigade will visit a person's home and conduct a short fire safety check and offer any necessary advice. While there the fire fighters will fit new smoke detectors or replace the batteries of existing alarms. There is no charge - just call and leave your details.

You will normally have to wait about two weeks for an appointment, but they are available mornings, afternoon and evenings 365 days of the year.

To find your local Station's phone number, look in the phone book under Fire, or check the list at www.firekills.gov.uk/home/01.htm. Call and ask for a free visit. They will either take your details or else give you the correct number to phone.
