WONDERWOMAN: I am a single Mum with an 11 year old autistic son. I am sick and tired of not having any support or help. I am discriminated because I live on benefits. I cannot go to work because he does not want to go to school. Everyone does not understand what I go through everyday. Why don't we ALL get together and get something done for single mums with disabled children. I want as many mums as possible to join together and show the world that we are human beings and our children have rights the same as normal children. I am thinking of national newspapers even the television. COME ON ENGLAND, SCOTLAND, WALES ETC LETS FIGHT TO GET JUSTICE, HELP, SUPPORT AND FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

Moderator: We were really interested to read your post. It would be good to know if you think that our own disabled child service has been able to help you. We do try and raise the particular issues for lone parents with disabled children in our campaigning work, but I thought you might also be interested in hearing about another campaign, Every Disabled Child Matters which specifically supports parents of disabled children. They have been quite successful in getting the Government to pay more attention to this issue, including securing a commitment to more short breaks for families with disabled children.
