loustar: HI all.

Just wanted to introduce myself. Im 28 and recently single, I have a son whos 3 in October, he has Williams Syndrome and also had infantile spasms which means he is more severely delayed than the 'average'; child with WIlliams Sydrome. THe thought of being a lone parent is scary esp knowing theres alot to cope with with my sons extra appointments etc.

Keen to meet other people in similiar situations really.

I also need to start lookinginto what I should be claiming now Im a lone parent and whether Id actaully be better off reducing my hours....so much to think about!!!!

Moderator: Hi, thank you for your post. Please call the Lone Parent Helpline on 0800 018 5026 and ask an adviser to check that you are receiving all the financial help you and your son are entitled to at the moment, and what you will be entitled to if you reduce your hours. When you call, please mention that you are caring for a disabled child and if an adviser is not available straight away, they will call you back.
