If you are due to start work or thinking of starting work of 16 hours or more per week for at least 5 weeks you could be entitled to a £250 Job Grant. You may also be entitled to other help, including a further 4 weeks of Council Tax Benefit and Mortgage Interest Payments or Housing Benefit. In some areas lone parents on Income Support will receive an extra £20 a week if they take active steps towards employment under a pilot scheme from April 2007. The payment is called the Work Related Activity Premium (WRAP) and will be available in the following areas: Bradford, Sandwell and Dudley, Leicestershire, North London, South East London, South East Wales.
