Problems getting legal aid?

June 2008

Recent changes to legal aid have led to worries that it has become more difficult for people get free or subsidised legal help via the legal aid scheme.  This can make it difficult for lower income people to get the legal advice or representation they need.

If you have had any problems getting hold of legally aided help, the Access to Justice Alliance (a group of solicitors and advice agencies campaigning to keep legal aid) would like to hear from you.   They have a questionnaire which they want members of the public to fill in, describing their experiences.   See
http://www.lag.org.uk/Templates/Internal.asp?NodeID=92353.
