Short Breaks bill fails to get second reading but campaign continues

The Disabled Children (Family Support) Bill was drawn up to introduce a specific duty on local authorities and Primary Care Trusts to provide short breaks (also known as respite care) for families with disabled children. Unfortunately, the bill failed to get its second reading in Parliament on 23 February, despite many MPs speaking in it's favour.
