We welcome the opportunity to respond to this consultation. It is estimated that between one third and one half of all children will spend some time living as part of a family headed by a lone parent. Ensuring the wellbeing of children in one parent families will therefore be essential to ensuring that the mission to 'ensure that every child has a chance to make the most of their talents and fulfil their potential' is fulfilled.
