How we work

This section sets out how the policy and research team works.

One Parent Families is a charity which believes that through working together, we can make change happen and build a fair society for all families, where the diversity of family life is celebrated , and in which lone parents and their children are not disadvantaged and do not suffer from poverty, isolation, or social exclusion.

The policy and research team work together to develop our knowledge and understanding of lone parents' lives and the problems we face, and to influence Government to bring about change.

Within the Research and Policy Team we:

Commission and undertake original research

Produce 'The Facts' series setting out key facts about lone parents' lives

Respond to Government consultations

Meet with key decision makers within government to influence change

Campaign publicly on lone parent issues.
